About Us

Armview Storm Volleyball Club is a youth volleyball club open to young ladies from grades primary to adulthood! We opened our doors in 2008 with 1 U14 team, 10 athletes and 3 coaches. This season, we have 4 competitive teams, and two youth programmes for a total of 71 athletes and 15 coaches and helpers! Named after the Armview Restaurant & Lounge, we continue to proudly represent them 13 years later.

Our goals include:

  • Providing an affordable opportunity for young ladies in the Spryfield area to play volleyball
  • Providing an opportunity to young girls to play sports
  • Instilling in young ladies, a love for volleyball

Our home gym is Elizabeth Sutherland School - 66 Rockingstone rd. in Spryfield.

We also use William King Elementary School - 91 St Pauls Ave, Herring Cove.

We offer both competitive and development teams at the U13 and U14 levels.

Our teams play in 4-5 tournaments as well as our home tournament, hosted at Elizabeth Sutherland School, and they also participate in the Nova Scotia Provincial weekend.

Depending on the year and team, they may sometimes travel to participate in the Volleyball Canada Championships or they may compete in an international tournament.

Over the years our teams have earned a great deal or respect within the volleyball community. Our girls are strong competitors and respectful young ladies who excel in sportsmanship. We have had a great deal of success, receiving medals and banners at countless tournaments. Our girls have won and placed at Volleyball Nova Scotia Provincials at a variety of ages and competition levels. We have medalled at Volleyball Canada championships on numerous occasions.

Our development programme is open to young ladies in grades primary to grade 6. We offer a 10 week grassroots skills programme. Our girls work on age and developmentally appropriate skills. We focus on proper techniques and body posture and use games to solidify the skills. When the girls finish the skills programme, they graduate to playing on our competitive teams. We put the FUN in FUNdamentals!
